Leicestershire Cares presents the Joining Up, Joining In Podcast. Joining Up, Joining In aims to give care experienced young people a voice on the issues that matter to them. They are delivering the project in collaboration with Learning and Work Institute and is funded by the Blagrave Trust. Young people on the project have recently been exploring whether being care experienced should be recognised in the Equality Act 2010 as a protected characteristic. This is a debate that local authorities are having across the country, following the publication of the Review of Children’s Social Care in England.

In this podcast we hear Laura Summers from the Violence Reduction Network, Kane Grundy who is volunteering on the project and is a care experienced teacher, as well as Flory and El who are two of the young people participating on the project.

Leicestershire Cares is an award-winning charity which provides a range of support to care experienced young people to help them reach their potential. For more information, visit www.leicestershirecares.co.uk or follow our social media channels @LeicsCares.
