This resource will support you to introduce and embed children’s rights in your setting. The resource includes responsive planning ideas for you to use in your setting. We’ve also included ideas for songs and books that you can use in your setting:

The Right Way: Children’s rights in the early years (training)
This training will support you to think about what a children’s rights approach looks like in you setting. You do not need previous knowledge of the UNCRC to take part in this training.
The training can be completed on your own or with your team. You will need to open the PowerPoint and fill in the workbook as you go through each slide. We’ve included voiceovers on the PowerPoint to guide you through the training, if you need any further support with the training please contact post@childcomwales.org.uk

We stand together song
This song explores children’s rights and talks about the things children need to grow up happy, healthy and safe. The song was written and composed by Sara Lewis, Dyfan Jones and Year 3 from Creigiau Primary School.
We suggest singing the song in a circle with your group, with you leading the actions (you may want to use Makaton Signs).
