On Wednesday 29th January, Leicestershire Cares hosted a healthy eating and Zumba workshop. We were privileged to have our workshop supported by representatives from our business member Samworth Brothers. This event empowered our young people to become more confident with cooking and take ownership of their diet.

We introduced them to easy to cook, cheap and healthy meal ideas and ingredients including a range of spices and flavours. We even took our young people to Leicester Market to show them just how cheap and fresh the local produce is.

There was a presentation on healthy eating choices, teaching us about macronutrients and healthy snack choices. Followed by a practical cooking session where we made chicken or vegan-style burritos, nachos, guacamole and hummus.

After a quick tidy-up we then cleared the Warehouse to make space for a Zumba session, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all!
