On Sunday 29 September, a set of brave walkers were battling the wind and rain along Cardiff Bay’s coast path. Dressed in bright orange, raincoats and huge smiles, they were a sight to be relished. These wonderful people were raising money for The Fostering Network annual Foster Walk Cardiff.

This year’s event was full of laughter, learning and fun. The walk kicked off around 11am, with the walkers grabbing some fruit and water, kindly donated by Tesco. The path took them along the bay and up to Penarth. On their return, our fantastic walkers were met with an array of activities, to say thank you for all their hard work. Techniquest, the National Museum Cardiff and the Wales Millennium Centre all got involved with their pop-up stalls and the kids absolutely loved it. There was also a special treat in the form of the Voices Choir, made up of care experienced individuals, foster carers and support staff.

The afternoon also saw amazing prizes being won at the raffle, with three families coming out on top. With two soft toys courtesy of Haven Holidays, a £50 Experience Days voucher and a Technical Tour of the Wales Millennium Centre up for grabs, no wonder they went away smiling.

The attendees also did some brilliant fundraising and with on the day donations from the public, around £700 was raised! A massive congratulations and thank you to everyone involved.

We look forward to next years Foster Walk!
