Report Summary:
This report focuses on one element of the responsibilities of the corporate parent: to help children and young people who are looked after achieve their educational potential. Since 1999, the Welsh Government has introduced a number of policy initiatives, guidance and specific grant funding which have supported an increased focus on the educational outcomes for children who are looked after. However, educational attainment among looked after children, and other children in need, remains very low.
