Krista Robinson Law Clinic Manager
The Cardiff University Law Clinic was launched on Friday 8th November, in national Pro Bono week. We have so far helped 20 people who could not otherwise easily access/afford legal advice. We also dealt with 24 online queries.
The Law Clinic can advise on Housing matters such as occupation contracts (tenancies), damp and disrepair, deposits, notices, possession proceedings and homelessness. It can also deal with private Family cases, such as divorce or private law cases involving children. We are not able to advise on financial settlement following divorce. We also deal with some matters that would fall within the scope of the Small Claims Court.
Appointments can be made with the Law Clinic by emailing lawclinic@cardiff.ac.uk. The charity Support Through Court can also refer members of the public to the Law Clinic directly. We cannot offer any court representation.
The Law Clinic has student advisors, who will be responsible for researching the matter, conducting the interview and providing basic legal advice in writing to the client. Their work is supervised by the Law Clinic Manager, Krista Robinson, a solicitor with over 20 years’ experience.
Appointments will be available from Monday 13th January 2025. Should you or someone you know benefit from free legal advice, please get in touch at lawclinic@cardiff.ac.uk to request an appointment.
The Law Clinic’s student advisors have worked really hard following the launch of the Law Clinic and have consistently provided a professional service.
